Top-floor lounge welcomes guests and community members with stunning views of Mississippi River and subtle references to region’s industrial/agricultural heritage
The River Room caps the western edge of a dual-branded hotel’s ninth floor. The casual lounge capitalizes on the hotel’s location next to the Mississippi River: full-height glazing offers 180-degree views of the river and its many happenings, ranging from water sports to the activities of bald eagles.
The River Room is open to both guests and the community at night. During the day, it is a popular venue for catered business lunches and social events such as showers and birthdays. Corporations, wedding blocks, and sports teams often book the hotel because of The River Room.
Guests access The River Room from within the hotels, while local patrons use a separate elevator on the ground level. When the elevator door opens, visitors are treated to a 180-degree vista of the river.
Within the lounge, guests encounter everything from colors and patterns that reference the area’s industrial and agricultural roots to regionally inspired drinks. Seating was designed for easy adjustment, enabling the hotel to maximize flexibility when renting the space for a variety of events. Sheedy/DeLaRosa Interiors led interior design of this project.

Because the space is clearly defined in the hotel with a separate entry and great design, the local community loves it! More than half our business comes from guests outside the hotel.
