Community plays leading role in master plan that sets the course for more than 100 facilities
The Columbus, Ohio metro area frequently ranks among the fastest-growing U.S. job markets. Its dated public schools, however, are ill-equipped to handle projected growth.
A year-long community engagement/master plan process paves the way for construction projects for 20-plus years. The plan, covering 112 facilities, creates equity and helps schools prepare for projected growth in job and housing markets.
Community engagement was a priority — a comprehensive rollout plan ensured that many community groups had opportunities for input. Additionally, district representatives led major sessions with the design team playing a supporting role.
