New Mayfield Heights aquatics complex encourages multigenerational use and sets standard for community recreation in eastern Cleveland suburbs
The 30,700-square-foot Aquatic & Community Center brings Mayfield Heights residents of all ages a new facility that raises the bar for recreational amenities in Cleveland’s eastern suburbs. The facility serves a variety of users ranging from children in day camps and members of senior clubs to fitness enthusiasts and bridal parties.
Aquatics portions include waterslides, a zero-depth entry pool with a playground and splash pad, a warm pool, a cooler lap pool with a diving well, and a lazy river. The outdoor area also features a climbing wall and pavilions for shaded seating.
Among the interior spaces are a gym with two courts, a multiuse senior space, three banquet areas served by a full kitchen, administrative offices with meeting space for both staff and community members, and a concessions area that accesses the outdoors.
Legat Architects served as aquatics design consultant for this project, and LevelHEADS was architect of record.
Legat demonstrated a strong understanding of our goals and expertly brought them to life, ensuring that the design would appeal to all generations of Mayfield Heights residents. It’s no surprise that the facility has quickly become a beloved part of our community, with attendance at peak levels.
