New Roofs Stop Leaking and Improve Energy Efficiency at Three Schools

Twenty-year-old roofs caused leaking at Community Consolidated School District 89’s Arbor View and Westfield elementary schools and Glen Crest Middle School.
CCSD 89 tasked Legat’s Special Projects team with the design of roofing removal and replacement at the three schools. The resulting new single-ply EPDM roofing eliminates the leaks and extends the roof service life for another 20 years. Additionally, the increased insulation enhances energy efficiency, reduces heating and cooling costs, and improves indoor comfort for students and staff.
The work, totaling 196,000 square feet, was completed at all three schools over one summer.
